Overview
Help Me is an emergency assistance app published by Subtle Port Co., Ltd. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the Help Me mobile application collects, why, and who we share it with. It applies to the Help Me app only.
1. Who we are

2. What we collect
Account information — your phone number (used to sign in with a one-time code), your name, your preferred language, and the role you use the app in (person seeking help, rescuer, embassy, or merchant).
Identity photo — when you create an account, you must provide a clear photo of your face, taken with your camera or chosen from your photo library. We use it only to verify that accounts belong to real people and to help prevent misuse of the emergency service. We do not use it for facial recognition, marketing, or advertising.
Nationality for foreign nationals — if you tell us you are a foreign national, we collect your nationality so that the embassy of your country can be alerted and assist you in an emergency. We do not collect passport numbers or any other identity document numbers.
Precise location — when you report an emergency, we collect your device's GPS location at the moment you send it and share it with responders while your case is open. Rescuers share their location only while they are on duty, handling a case, or viewing the details of an incident alert sent to them, so we can match them to nearby emergencies and show the person waiting that help is on the way.
Photos and documents — you may attach photos to an emergency report. Rescuers upload identity and qualification documents when applying to become a rescuer. Merchants may upload business documents when applying to list a shop.
Voice recordings — you may optionally record a short voice note, up to 30 seconds, to attach to an emergency report. Recording only starts when you tap the microphone button and only after you grant microphone permission. The app never records in the background and never listens when you have not asked it to. You can delete the recording before sending the report.
Notification token — a push notification token for your device, so we can alert you about emergencies. Delivery uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android and the Apple Push Notification service on iOS.
Emergency case data — incident type, description, timestamps, and status.
Merchant information — if you register as a merchant: shop name, description, location, reviews, and coupon redemptions.
We do not record audio in the background, read your contacts, read your messages, store payment card details, use advertising networks, or sell your data.
3. How we use it
- To alert nearby rescuers when you report an emergency
- To show responders where you are
- To notify your family or group members that you need help
- To notify your embassy if you are a foreign national in distress
- To let you review the history of your own cases
- To operate merchant listings and coupons
- To verify your identity and prevent misuse of the emergency service, using the identity photo you provide when you sign up
4. Who we share it with
When you report an emergency, we share your name, phone number, location, incident type, and any photos or voice recordings with rescuers near you. This is the core purpose of the app.
We also share your name, location, incident type, and any photos or voice recordings with the family or group members you have added. This applies to all users.
If you have told us you are a foreign national, we share your name, nationality, and location with the embassy of your country when you report an emergency. This applies to all foreign nationals. Voice recordings are not shared with embassies.
Your identity photo is not shared with rescuers, family or group members, embassies, or merchants. Only our administrators can view it, and only to verify your identity.
We use these service providers: Supabase (database and file storage), Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and the Apple Push Notification service (push notification delivery), Expo (push notification routing and app updates), and Longdo Map by Metamedia Technology Co., Ltd. (map tiles — your IP address is visible to them when maps load).
We do not sell personal data. We disclose data to authorities only where required by law.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account information until you ask us to delete it. Emergency case records are retained as a history so incidents can be reviewed later.
6. Your rights
You can delete your account and its data from inside the app: open the Profile tab and tap Delete account. You may also ask us to show you the data we hold about you or correct it. Email privacy@subtleport.com and we will respond.
We handle personal data in line with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in Europe.
7. Children
Help Me is not designed for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Database access is restricted by row-level security rules so users can only reach records they are entitled to see.
9. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
